Closing the Gap between Dierent Object Models

چکیده

Programming language, database and operating system objects are essentially implementation variants of the same basic programming paradigm, i.e. objects as found in object-oriented programming languages. Yet, these object models di er signi cantly with regard to programming support, granularity, lifetime, persistence, concurrency, fault-tolerance and others. The paper points out the di erences between these object models and argues that it makes sense to provide one generalized dynamic object model. A technique to dene and use operating system objects in the same way as programming language objects independent from the object model provided by the underlying operating system will be shown.

From Knowing to Doing—From the Academy to Practice; Comment on “The Many Meanings of Evidence: Implications for the Translational Science Agenda in Healthcare”

In this commentary, the idea of closing the gap between knowing and doing through closing the gap between academics and practitioners is explored. The two communities approach to knowledge production and use, has predominated within healthcare, resulting in a separation between the worlds of research and practice, and, therefore, between its producers and users. Meaningful collaborations betwee...

Automatic generation of prototypes in 3D structural object recognition

A scheme of generating a prototype automatically from dierent learning objects is presented. The learning objects are not one and the same object but dierent objects belonging to a same object class, and consequently have similar shape of parts and similar adjacent relations between parts. We show how to generate prototypes of several chairs and table lamps. We also tested on using generated pr...

Controlling Business Object States in Business Process Models to Support Compliance

The doctoral thesis addresses the existing gap between business process models and states of business objects. Existing modelling methods such as BPMN and ArchiMate lack an explicitly declarative approach for capturing states of business objects and laws of state transitions. This gap hinders the compliance of business process models with regulations imposed internally or externally, and can re...

Numerical Formulation on Crack Closing Effect In Buckling Analysis of Edge-Cracked Columns

In this paper, buckling of simply supported column with an edge crack is investigated numerically and analytically. Four different scenarios of damage severities are applied to a column, open crack assumption and the effect of closing crack in stability of the column which depends on position and size of cracks, are numerically compared. Crack surfaces contact is modeled with GAP element using ...
